Faculty Member of Processwork
Kate Jobe
I am a facilitator of individual, couple and group processes. I studied Processwork in Zürich in the 1980s and was a founder of the Processwork Institute in Portland, OR where I had the opportunity to work closely with Amy and Arny Mindell in the Extreme States Clinic and Movement Clinic. With the help of my husband, Joe Goodbread, I founded Lao Tse Press and published The Journal of Process Oriented Psychology, and books by Arny Mindell, Amy Mindell and Joe Goodbread. I am Swiss and American and live in Winterthur Switzerland.
I came to Processwork after a career as a dancer and Laban Movement Analyst and am known for my expertise in movement and body experience. I see myself as a “global nomad” after having grown up in my formative years with my family in India, Pakistan and Lebanon. This background gives me a dual orientation: the resources of somatic experience through our bodies and movement and a concern for the complexity of community and society: one intensely personal and private and the other external, interacting with diverse experience and needs. I am interested in how important these worlds are to our personal and community well-being.
I am a senior trainer in Processwork, serving on the faculty in the UK, Barcelona, Zürich, Portland OR, Warsaw and Mumbai. I am also a student deeply committed to learning and discovering as process continually unfolds.
