Leah L Halliday
I am a processwork Diplomate living in the Highlands of Scotland. I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist and clinical supervisor. I also occasionally deliver training, facilitate groups and relationships. I work primarily online.
I have been deeply inspired and profoundly changed through Processwork. Key aspects of the practice for me have been the fostering of a keen curiosity in non-rational experiences and an expansive, playful creativity; and awareness of the collective dimension, particularly an understanding of dynamics of power and privilege and how those shape our experiences.
I have worked as a therapist and clinical supervisor in the third sector, in Higher Education and in private practice. I have also worked as a consultant for third-sector organisations in the UK and beyond, have facilitated dialogue in the third sector and at public events, and have taught processwork in various contexts.
I am committed to ongoing learning and exploration of how identity and privilege (e.g. racialised identity, gender identity, sexuality, relationship choices, age) shape my experience, that of my clients and how it expresses in our relationships.
An important focus for me is the body in relationship, including how dynamics of power and privilege impact our bodies in the moment and over time. I am also, always learning about creative approaches of working with trauma. I am an accredited EMDR therapist and integrate learning about trauma from various psychotherapeutic modalities whilst rooted in my core theoretical model, Processwork.
I have a background in publishing and digital library consultancy in higher education. I also trained for 2 years in person-centred counselling and one year in Gestalt psychotherapy before discovering Processwork. My supervision training was integrative, relational, and developmental.
Beyond work, I love being outdoors and am grateful to live in a beautiful part of the country. My spiritual practice has been a source of inspiration and transformation throughout my adult life. I practice yoga and meditation, I run, and I hike, swim outdoors and enjoy hanging out with friends and family.
